This Saturday all hell will break loose at The Smiling Skull Saloon when Empirian, Phantom in the Woodwork, and The Tailwinds join forces for one of the most brutal shows in the Athens area.
Empirian is a band that has performed several times this year at various local venues, and this time they’re back to put on another vicious performance.
The band’s style of metal combines ferocious breakdowns with menacing harmonized guitars in order to try and set a new standard in the metalcore genre. The group has been known to feature both clean and screaming vocals, in order to appeal to a variety of heavy metal fans.
Phantom in the Woodwork is a progressive death metal band that originated in the Greater-Cleveland area. The band draws their sound from well established acts such as Between the Buried and Me, Dream Theater, Chimaira, and The Fucking Champs. Fans of the aforementioned groups should definitely take notice of this new up-and-coming metal act.
FInally, The Tailwinds are a biker-rock band who perform original hard rock tunes, as well as cover songs that they "make their own." This band may not be the heaviest band of the night, but they are definitely one that should not be missed.
This is one of the most talented groups of local rock/metal acts around and their performances will leave fans breathless. Come to The Smiling Skull Saloon to witness the heaviest show of the weekend.
