Folk singer Bruce Cockburn’s 34th album, Crowing Ignites, is set for release on September 20, 2019. Shortly following the release, Cockburn is slated to perform a string of tour dates, including a performance at Stuart’s Opera House, a Nelsonville venue, on Monday, September 23.

Crowing Ignites, an 11-track instrumental album, contains a mix of blues, folk and jazz, which are standard genres for Cockburn’s music. According to his official website, this release also features influences of world music.
Cockburn began his music career in 1970 with a self-titled debut album. Over the span of his forty-year career, Cockburn has released a steady stream of studio albums, and his discography includes 33 in total. His upcoming release Crowing Ignites will mark his 34th.
Bruce Cockburn is also a 12-time Juno winner and Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductee. In 2017, he won the People’s Voice Award at the Folk Alliance International conference. He also released a memoir entitled “rumours of glory” in 2014.
Tickets for “An Evening with Bruce Cockburn” on September 23 at Stuart’s Opera House are on sale now. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with the event beginning at 7:30 pm. Tickets are currently on sale and can be purchased here or at (740) 753-1924. Floor seats are $48.50 in advance and $53.53 at the door, balcony seats are $43.50 in advance or $48.50 at the door and box seats are $58.50 in advance and $63.50 at the door.
