According to The Big Takeover, who premiered “You Are A Weight,” lead singer Liz Fisher describes the new track by revealing a personal connection with its purpose and inspiration.
“‘You Are A Weight’ is a response to someone who tried to make me feel like their problems were always my fault; an acknowledgement that I don’t have to be responsible for someone else’s happiness,” said Fisher in the article.
This single is the second release from the band’s upcoming EP, titled In Memory, which will arrive on October 25 on Diversion Records. The first song from In Memory, titled “Cruel,” was released on September 6, and together, the two tracks provide an exciting preview of the new release.
The band has been active in the Columbus music scene since 2016’s release of their first-ever single “Go On,” and the band will continue to release new music in 2019. Currently, the duo is gearing up for a 12-date tour to promote their upcoming EP, In Memory.
The release show for In Memory is scheduled for October 25 at the Rumba Cafe, where The Cordial Sins will promote the new tunes while playing alongside Wyd and Oginalii. Find more information and purchase tickets here.
