Junior Brendan Eveslage’s greatest influence from his hometown of Milford, Ohio is his experience in the high school marching band.
“Music is everything I do now. It’s where I got my roots,” Brendan said.

In love with the way music transcends language, Brendan chose music production as his major at Ohio University.
“I like the way sounds rattle my ears. We get pure enjoyment from music for no reason,” Brendan said.
Brendan oversees all of the DJs as the programming director of ACRN Media. The best part of the gig for him, despite the fact that he has to keep track of 20 people’s crazy schedules, is getting to “engage in the experience that is music” with other people.
“We have everything here with all of our different departments. If you enjoy sharing music with other people, that’s all we do here,” Brendan said.
Brendan’s DJ name, AlchemEve, fuses the word “alchemy” with his last name. He chose to use alchemy in his name as a tribute to a huge inspiration of his, Savant, who has an album entitled Alchemist.
His specialty show is called “Straight Up Bops,” which is essentially an hour of music that he thinks people can get down and grove to.
The first half of the show consists of random songs that Brendan likes that week, and the second half of the show is always dedicated to EDM.
“That’s where my area of familiarity is. I enjoy weird, cool sounds. I love how it makes me feel—it has a sort of energy that other genres don’t,” Brendan said.
