VIRTUAL CONCERT CALENDAR: What’s Going On – Week of 4/20-4/26

Even though everyone is stuck at home and live shows have been canceled or postponed, great music is still happening.

Dozens of artists are livestreaming concerts and music festivals – so many that this list is limited to local Ohio events and larger music festivals. Many more individual artists may host streaming events throughout the week. Check out the list below for just a few great ways to watch live-streamed shows from Athens and beyond.

Who: Audiotree

When: Monday, April 20 – Friday, April 24

Where: Instagram

Chicago’s Audiotree hosts live music on their Instagram Monday through Friday, usually beginning at 5 p.m. EST and hosting two or three bands. Their Instagram page features each week’s lineup, so find more information here.

Who: Josh Krajcik

When: Daily

Where: Facebook

Columbus singer-songwriter Josh Krajcik has been hosting livestream performances on Facebook every day at varying times. Find more information here

Who: Blueprint

When: Monday, April 20 at 8 p.m. EST

Where: Facebook

Cincinnati rock ‘n’ roll band Blueprint will go live to perform a show in partnership with CincyMusic on Monday. Find more information here.

Who: BANGS

When: Tuesday, April 21 at 6 p.m. EST

Where: Facebook

BANGS, a Cincinnati alt-rock group, will perform as part of CincyMusic’s livestream show series on Tuesday. Find more information here.

When: Tuesday, April 21 at 6:30-7:30 p.m. EST

Columbus organization COVAID Live has been hosting regular Front Porch Happy Hour live concerts produced by Shaw House Productions every Tuesday and Thursday to benefit the Greater Columbus Arts Council’s COVID-19 relief fund. This Tuesday, join Ohio rapper Scottie G for an hour of hip-hop and R&B music. Find more information here.

When: Wednesday, April 22 at 8 p.m. EST; Friday, April 24 at 8 p.m. EST; Saturday, April 25 at 7 p.m. EST; Sunday, April 26 at 12 p.m. EST

Join Columbus creative platform Cloud City 614 on Instagram and Facebook every week for virtual programming on Wild Card Wednesday at 8 p.m., Far Out Friday at 8 p.m., City Cast Saturday at 7 p.m. and Soul Sunday at 12 p.m. Find more information here.

Join COVAID Live and Shaw House Productions for their second Front Porch Happy Hour of the week, this time featuring Columbus hip-hop and funk group Mistar Anderson. Find more information here.

Though alternative rock group Season Ten technically resides in Kentucky, the group will perform a set on Thursday night in collaboration with CincyMusic. Find more information here.

Who: 100 Gecs Presents: Square Garden

When: Friday, April 24 at 6-10 p.m. EST

100 gecs will present Square Garden, a Minecraft live music festival benefiting Feeding America and featuring bands like Kero Kero Bonito, Charli XCX, Parry Gripp and Tommy Cash, among others. Find more information here.

When: Saturday, April 25 at 3 p.m. EST

Where: Minecraft server fest.blockbyblockwest.com or blockbyblockwest.com

Bands like Pussy Riot, Citizen, Cherry Glazerr, The Wrecks, Heart Attack Man and more will play a live music festival on Minecraft on Saturday afternoon. Athens Live Music & ACRN Present: The Super QuaranSTREAM Series, a three-week live-streamed concert series on Saturday nights.
