Bridgers has continuously expressed her admiration for Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Bridge is a British award-winning actress and writer most known for her work on Fleabag and Killing Eve. As it turns out, Bridge was a fan of Bridgers as well, resulting in the collaboration. The final product includes Emmy-nominated Irish actor Paul Mescal, as well as canine talent by the name of Charlotte. Following the release, Bridgers is to perform the song live on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon on Friday along with a recording session at LA’s Magic Castle.
Beyond her work on the Punisher music video, Bridgers has been rapidly creating new content. Her latest EP, Copycat Killer, a collaboration with Grammy-winning string instrumentalist Rob Moose, was followed by a cover of Merle Haggard’s “If We Make it Through December”, released to provide benefits to the Downtown Women’s Center in LA. The spike in activity also included her recent duet with Maggie Rogers, a cover of The Goo Goo Dolls’ “Iris”. The performance followed the 2020 presidential election and raised over $173,000 for Stacey Abrams’ Fair Fight Action. It also reached over 46,000 downloads, landing the duo at number one on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales Chart.
Her recent success has not gone unnoticed. Bridgers earned four Grammy nominations: “Best New Artist,” “Best Alternative Album,” “Best Rock Song” and “Best Rock Performance.” To finish off her recent accomplishments, Bridges also created her own record label in October, Saddest Factory Records, adding a final item to her long list of achievements.
