The March 19 release will be the first installment of the Dear Dear EP. The first teaser track, “Take It Like A Man”, mixes a refreshing indie-folk sound with the late-’50s, early-’60s doo-wop sound. The EP is promised to honor the legacies of legendary girl groups such as The Ronettes, The Shirelles and The Crystals, according to a press release.
The single and video follow the release of the singer’s fashion line BESA, a collection of “high-end cashmere headscarves”. The first round of headscarves sold out in under 24 hours. You can pre-order the second batch here. They also follow Cohl’s first full-length album, 2018’s Far Away and Gone.
Chase Cohl was born into the music industry. Through her mother and father, a large amount of Cohl’s youth was spent on the road with The Rolling Stones. As a result, Cohl credits Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood as her “style icons”. The songwriter’s musical development started with playing piano during her childhood, which later molded to guitar and banjo while she was studying poetry in her college years. She has toured with the likes of Cory Chisel, Cameron Avery and Lissie.
