Local band Sneakthief is set to embark on a regional tour.
In a recent interview with ACRN, Joe Fradette, the drummer and keyboardist for the band, and Daniel Palmer, the lead singer and guitarist, discussed the upcoming tour and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on tours.
Asked about the difficulties posed by the pandemic that have impacted the band’s tour, Daniel said: “From a booking and tour perspective, everyone in the DIY scene is going on tour in March. Yeah. Everybody’s going on tour in April. It’s so crowded and it’s so hard to not only get a venue booked, but also to fight for people’s attention.”
The band began their tour with a show at The Union on March 25, followed by a show at Cafe Bourbon in Columbus with Sparky & The Hills and Mezclado on March 26. They are set to play The Comet in Cincinnati on March 28 and Armageddon Beach Party in Detroit with No Fun Club, dogsneeze and It doesn’t bother me on March 31.
When asked if they had any projects in the works, Sneakthief said: “We’re gonna play a couple new (songs) at the shows on tour. We’re really excited about that… Definitely some more singles in the works and hopefully a bigger, full length record in the future.”
