“That’s Where I Am” is worlds apart from her past work, Heard It In A Past Life. Edgy and embracing her rock and roll tendencies, Rogers seems to have come into a new part of herself musically, transcending within her production and lyrics.

The new track, according to a press release, was written after the singer moved to the coast of Maine and began focusing on “reading and resting and walking along the jagged cliffs, compelled by the fierce and unforgiving nature of the North Atlantic Ocean.”

The song and the rest of the album was recorded in multiple studios from Electric Lady Studios in New York to Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios near Bath.

The single will be added to Rogers setlist for her performances on April 17 and April 24 at Coachella.

As fans patiently await for her next album to release, it’s clear that Maggie Rogers is one of the many artists to watch this year. Sporting a new pixie cut and a black and white aesthetic, it seems that this artist is ready to kick off a new era in light of all the chaos the world has offered musicians in the past two years.
