Spoon release new remix of Lucifer on the Sofa

American rock band Spoon have announced a remix and re-record of their most recent album Lucifer on the Sofa, released earlier this year. The album will be titled Lucifer on the Moon, according to Pitchfork.

The remix album was publicized with the release of a single from the collection, “On the Radio (Adrian Sherwood Reconstruction).”

The band started recording Lucifer on the Sofa in early 2018, with the release date of their tenth studio album being slated for 2020. The date was pushed back to early 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On October 28th of the same year, they announced the album title and date to the public. The album was released on February 11, 2022, via Matador records. 

Lucifer on the Moon has been praised by lead vocalist Britt Daniel in a statement. He describes the collection as being “completely different versions of the songs” due to the added instrumentation. He also felt that the collection was “not just remixes, but companion pieces. A ‘Part II.’” 

Lucifer on the Moon is slated to be released November 4 via Matador. Check out the music video for their new released single, “On the Radio (Adrian Sherwood Reconstruction).
