The Miller estate described the song to Pitchfork as a “Product of the friendship the two shared and perfectly encapsulates the musical gifts of both artists. Anyone that followed Malcolm’s career closely is already aware of the respect he held for Robert’s work.” They further solidify their praises, saying, “We’re honored to support in sharing this beautiful song that Malcolm and Robert Glasper created together.”
Glasper’s upcoming record is an extended version of “Black Radio III”, released earlier this year in February. The soon-to-be released ‘Supreme Edition’ will include eight new original songs. The lead single acts as a sequel to Miller’s 2014 track, “Therapy” off of his mixtape entitled, “Faces”.
Robert described the song’s creation as being spontaneous, stating to Pitchfork, “We were just finishing up this specific beat. I immediately sent it to him, and literally within an hour he sent me back that track. You can tell he really came up with that in the moment.”
