In an interview with Pitchfork, frontman Robin Pecknold explained some of the inspiration for the track, saying, “I was inspired by how the film employed unconventional means to arrive at something universally moving, and was struck by all the collisions inherent in the film’s conceit—between species, between hemispheres, between individuals, between the psychological and the natural.”
In September 2020, Fleet Foxes released Shore, an album that landed the group a second Grammy nomination and their first in the Best Alternative Music Album. Not long after releasing Shore, Pecknold decided to release the massive “Stems Edition” of Shore in December 2020, and then released A Very Lonely Solstice live album a year later.
In June 2022, Bernardes released his sophomore album Mil Coisas Invisíveis and performed a live set on KEXP Radio in Seattle. Most recently, Fleet Foxes and Bernardes finished up their Shore Tour this September, in which the two performed 35 shows across North America and Europe.
