In a surprising turn of events, one of the top songs of the month is a sequel to a PinkPantheress track, this time featuring Bronx rapper Ice Spice. “Boy’s a liar Pt. 2” is a fun single that has more replay value than the original, even if the only major change is the inclusion of Ice Spice as a feature.

This new song was a surprise, and a good one at that. It follows both artists and their struggles with men, who, as the title suggests, lie. Ice Spice gives her best vocal performance on a song thus far, while floating over the laid-back beat. The track feels more complete with her inclusion, and she successfully experiments with a new flow. Ice Spice has improved her sound from her EP that was released less than a month ago, learning from mistakes and bringing her A-game, even if it’s just for a 30-second feature. Both PinkPantheress and Ice Spice, who work mainly in different genres, mesh their styles together smoothly, with neither artist taking away from the other in their performances.

All the talk about Ice Spice shouldn’t crowd out the conversation about PinkPantheress, whose vocals work well with the song, and having a feature to break up the repetitiveness of the track really helps to fully appreciate her vocal performance. With her album to hell with it from 2021, she’s really starting to pave her path as a fun artist who delivers quality pop projects and singles, and “Boy’s a liar Pt. 2” is no different.

Overall, the track has a lot to offer, with fun performances from both artists. As always, Ice Spice will deliver, and as always, I’ll be there to listen.
