Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots was well-received upon its initial 2002 release, receiving attention from publications like Pitchfork and Rolling Stone, and has since become a cult-classic album for 2000s rock and psychedelic music.

The Flaming Lips made their debut as a band with their 1986 album Hear It Is followed by Oh My Gawd!!!…The Flaming Lips one year later. Since their debut, The Flaming Lips have developed a substantial body of work including albums like Transmissions From the Satellite Heart, Ego Tripping at the Gates of Hell, The Terror and Where The Viaduct Looms. The Flaming Lips headlined southeast Ohio’s Nelsonville Music Festival in 2011 and returned to the festival for another show four years later.

The tour is set to commence in late April in London and the band will come to the United States in early May, beginning their string of domestic performances in Chicago. Tickets for the tour go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. local time.
