Some of the biggest names in hard rock and heavy metal are set to headline the PowerTrip Festival at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. The festival will take place from October 6-8th, with two headliners featured each night. Friday night will star Guns N’ Roses and Iron Maiden. Saturday night will feature AC/DC and Ozzy Ozbourne with Tool and Metallica closing out on Sunday.

This is certainly big news for these artists. Ozzy Ozbourne’s appearance on the bill is shocking for sure after he announced his retirement from touring earlier this year. AC/DC’s appearance is set to be the first show they will play since 2016, since the tragic passing of founding member Malcolm Young and the release of their 17th studio album POWER UP.
Late last year, Iron Maiden announced The Future Past Tour 2023 would take off across Europe this summer, but with the addition of PowerTrip as part of that tour, it may imply that a full North American tour could be on the horizon. Metallica and Guns N’ Roses are both touring this summer, with Metallica touring in support of their upcoming album 72 Seasons and providing fans with the unique experience of playing two shows per city with no repeated songs across the two nights. Tool is playing other festival dates such as Aftershock and Sonic Temple with a tour likely coming in the fall. The remainder of the lineup for PowerTrip is still yet to be confirmed.
