Hardcore Holidays 2022 Q&A: Girl Cologne

On Nov. 10, 2022, ACRN hosted “Hardcore Holidays” at The Union in Athens. Alongside a DJ set, two fantastic bands took the stage, and one of them was Cleveland-based Girl Cologne. I had the opportunity to sit down with the band prior to their set to talk about how they got started, their 2021 album Phases, the local scene in Cleveland and some underrated Weezer songs.

Nirvana Announces 30th-Anniversary Re-issue of Nevermind With Four Unreleased Concerts

Geffen/UMe announced on Thursday the release of the 30th anniversary re-issue of Nirvana’s Nevermind.  The eight-LP Super Deluxe edition of the decade defining album will come with four previously unreleased concerts, all of which were recorded in the months after Nevermind’s release.

New Jersey power-punk collective Teenage Halloween may have just served up the sweetest existentially-concerned cocktail this side of Jeff Rosenstock. One part Pacific Northwest indie, two parts California ska/pop-punk, with a dash of Springsteen and modern folk-punk for garnish, Teenage Halloween’s self-titled debut is a satisfyingly melodic crowd-pleaser.
