Yeehaw, rock lobsters! It’s time to giddy up and gather ‘round at Casa Nueva this Saturday for ACRN Media’s Y’allternative Bash. Put on your favorite pair of overalls and bring yourself on down to one of our favorite local venues for a night of alternative country fun.

Taking the stage first on Saturday night is Coralilly, one of Athens’ own artists. Cora’s vibrant, stripped-back sets bring the best of singer-songwriting to center stage, and this weekend’s show will be no exception.

Having grown up in the local music scene, Cora is a true staple of Athens music. You may know her as the former frontwoman of Velvet Green or as a current member of Saddlebags, all on top of her solo work as a musician. Recently, she performed at southeastern Ohio’s Nelsonville Music Festival. To get a sense of what she’ll be bringing to Casa Nueva on Saturday, watch her Sycamore Session from NMF 2023.

Next in the lineup is folk group Sunday Creek, a seasoned act within the Athens music scene. Sunday Creek bring a truly infectious and outrageously fun energy to the stage—their bond is palpable and so, so joyous. The group only plays live shows semi-frequently, so you won’t want to miss your opportunity to hear their set.

Following Sunday Creek is touring musician Lily Seabird, hailing all the way from Burlington, VT. Seabird’s performance follows the recent release of her newest album, Alas, which came out in the middle of January. Through her songs, Seabird maintains a mellow, unhurried and unrelenting electric energy, which will undoubtedly make for a great live show.

Closing out the night, Florry will bring their all to Casa’s stage. Staying in theme for the evening, Florry are a delightfully fun group with fantastic stage presence that will surely leave you smiling by the time the night ends. The folk group are set to bring a much needed dose of twang to Casa’s stage on Saturday night.

Alongside Coralilly, Florry are Nelsonville Music Festival alumni, having played the festival this past summer. For a taste of the band’s live sound, check out their NMF Sycamore Session.

You won’t want to miss this weekend’s celebration of alt country, so pull on your finest cowboy boots and meander your way over to Casa Nueva. Doors open at 10 p.m. and music starts just 15 minutes later, so be sure to get there early. As always, tickets are $8, or $10 for lobsters under 21. Will we see you there, partner?
