By Paul Nern, News Editor
Well Rock Lobsters, there’s a buzz floating around ACRN. We had a glorious Halloween weekend full of music and spooky celebrations, but why on earth would we stop there? The mist of the Hocking River seems to exude a certain energy at this time of year, and what better way to capitalize on this than to have Teenage Halloween and Dairy Family bring the heat on what otherwise might have been an average Wednesday night in Athens, Ohio. The Union will play host to these two phenomenal bands November 3 at 7:00 pm, for what ACRN promises is sure to be a glorious night.
Preview: ACRN LobsterFest with Jetty Bones, Sun Boats, Warp and Wastemen
Rock Lobsters, what could that be lingering around the station at ACRN? Is it hope? We’d like to think so. The music world seems to be slowly on its way back from the standstill of the pandemic due to the massive vaccine rollout and the joy that summer tends to bring to everything. Unfortunately, we won’t be back in person for this year’s Lobsterfest. Instead, we’ll again be sticking to the virtual format that we adopted for the Battle of the Bands and ACRN Prom. Four artists will be featured on the bill: Jetty Bones, Sun Boats, Warp and Wastemen. You won’t want to miss what these groups will bring to the table. The sets will be released one at a time on ACRN’s YouTube channel, starting on April 23 and going until May 1.

Fellow Rock Lobsters, we here at ACRN have worked hard to persevere through the obstacles that the global pandemic has thrown at the music world. In November, we successfully put on our annual Battle of the Bands, which was conducted remotely through pre-recorded live sets. We are continuing this virtual format with this year’s Prom. Three amazing local artists will be featured this time with all sets having been recorded at Ohio’s Scripps Amphitheater. Join us for the premiere this Saturday on ACRN’s YouTube Channel.
