The “party girl gods” are back this fall. Charli XCX and Kesha have finally banded together with a new single for the new release of the BRAT remix album, Brat and it’s completely different but also still brat. Charli XCX has brought out the inner party girl in all of us this summer, and now she’s inspiring other artists with her and bringing us BRAT autumn.

Charli XCX and Kesha created a remix for the song “Spring breakers,” and let’s just say that Charli has helped bring back the old Kesha that we all know and love.

I think the best part of this song is the ad libs that Kesha does throughout, it just screams Y2K Kesha and I am here for it. The autotune voice manipulation put over Kesha sounds almost like it was pulled directly from a verse on her Animal album.

The main problem I have with this remix is that Kesha is rapping over the best verse in the entirety of the “Spring breakers” track. Instead of eliminating the Charli verse, the track should have just been extended to fit with the preexisting masterpiece in the first place. The first Kesha verse just doesn’t really do much for the song, the lyrics are far better than the beat and flow of the verse. As far as Kesha’s talent goes, not much was showcased here and I expected more from the “party girl gods.”
