Newcastle post-punk quintet Dust have released a brand new single, “New High.” The single was released via Brooklyn label Kanine Records, and comes ahead of the band embarking on a UK tour with seminal NYC post-punk revivalists Interpol.

Additionally, the group have released an accompanying music video directed by Nikola Jokanovic which features the members riding bikes, cinematic shots of the streets of Newcastle and plenty of stellar night-vision camera effects.

According to Clash, the band shared the following about the track:

“It’s about those nights spent lying in a room illuminated by fairy lights, listening to dreamy music like Beach House, or watching the movie Her and feeling a deep sense of melancholy. Shifting between the warmth of solitude and the desire to move past the more painful aspects of isolation, it’s a reflection of both the comfort and complexity that come with being alone.”

“New High” is the follow up single to “Trust U See,” released back in April of 2024. It is unknown yet if these songs are set to be featured on a full-length project.

Dust is made up of dual guitarist/vocalists Gabriel Stove and Justin Teale, drummer Kye Cherry, bassist Liam Smith and guitarist/saxophonist Adam Ridgway. The band released their debut EP, Et Cetera, Etc, in March 2023, which featured star-studded singles such as “Ward 52” and “The Gutter.”  A companion remix EP was released in April of this year.

Since then, the band has been continuing to turn heads and have been able to tour with some of the most recognized and respected names in the modern post-punk umbrella. A few notable acts Dust has played with include the aforementioned Interpol, Bloc Party, Slowdive, as well as more contemporary legends such as Protomartyr.
