Calling all Rock Lobsters! Get ready to inhale coffee grinds by the handful in preparation for ACRN’s All Nighter stream. On Saturday, November 23, ACRN’s finest DJs are teaming up from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM for a night overfilled with non-stop music, gaming, Epic Rap Battles of History marathons and Weird Al Yankovic head turners. “Listeners can expect a very wide variety of stuff to be broadcasted during the stream,” said ACRN’s General Manager, Roman Salomone, who’s slated to perform at 11:00 PM under his moniker DJ xSwagMaster69x. 

“It’s going to be a really wide, and often tongue in cheek, net of sound.” Roman stated “But it’s a blast to do and it’s always great to throw some curveballs when it comes to our stream.”

No matter if listeners tune in at midnight or when the sun comes out and the birds start chirping, they’ll never hear the same thing twice. Whether it’s childhood Nickelodeon and Disney theme songs, or the Challengers soundtrack played in its entirety, every DJ offers something unique to the table.

Roman’s own DJ set is chock-full of bite-sized curveballs. “I’m going to play only songs that are under a minute long. I think the collection of what I’ve put together is ridiculous because some of it is what you’d expect like random punk stuff and chaotic hardcore nonsense, but I also have like album interludes and at least 3-4 songs from Wire’s Pink Flag on it.”

ACRN’s Programming Director, Brooke Phillips, took on the daunting task of coordinating the nine-hour-long program.

“The process was actually pretty easy since a lot of folks were extremely interested!” Brooke said. “We had a test run of the All-Nighter last spring, which many members enjoyed and urged for another event this semester. If anything, it was a matter of implementing what worked and what didn’t work for this semester.”

Brooke continued, relaying what she’s eager for listeners to hear. “I’m very excited about [the] stream aspect, which will have DJs interacting with our listeners beyond audio. I won’t spoil too much, but it’ll be interesting to see how our DJs will incorporate the two mediums!”

“My one recommendation to anyone interested in watching it is to interact with us.” Roman said “Tell all your friends to tune in. Share your thoughts in the chat on the ‘Listen Live.’ Spam the comments on the YouTube feed.”
