New Zealand band Phoebe Rings announced their debut album due June 6 via Carpark Records.
Two singles, “Aseurai” and “Drifting” are available to stream ahead of the album’s release. The forthcoming LP follows the band’s debut self-titled EP, which they released in 2021.

“Aseurai means around you in the atmosphere, hard to reach, fading away,” said the frontwoman of the group, Crystal Choi, in a press release.
“It’s a poetic expression. You wouldn’t say it in normal conversation, but I like that,” Choi added.
Phoebe Rings originated as a solo project of Choi’s but Aseurai welcomes collaboration from fellow members of the band, with songwriting credits going to the whole band.
Guitarist and synthesist Simeon Kavanagh-Vincent spoke of a transformation since the group’s EP release that can be discerned from the forthcoming album, saying, “Without getting too gloomy, it’s a weird world out there. A lot has changed in the world since the EP came out.”
