The EP’s lead single “All Hat No Cattle” showcases the duo’s knack for explosive, stadium-bound choruses. The opening track “Barn Boiler” was derived from a high-speed, hour-long jam session in the rehearsal room. In a press release, the band stated that, “the title came from hearing the instrumental back in a hot warehouse. Our interior barns were boiling, not burning. I think some of the best songs come from a physically uncomfortable place.”
The Clip’s six tracks were initially recorded a few years prior to its eventual release. “Most of these songs came to life in our old warehouse rehearsal space,” the band stated. “Playing together in a small sweaty box. It was refreshing coming into the warehouse for the day with no real song ideas in mind and just start somewhere.”
In celebration of their EP’s release, Hockey Dad are set to perform three shows at Australian bowling alleys for their Bowlo Tour throughout October.
