[NO FILTER; 2025]

Rating: 8/10

Gurriers are loud and deliciously Irish. The Dublin natives’ newest single “Erasure” perfectly encapsulates their untouched, messy punk sound. Gurriers take what they showed on Come and See and push it further, darker, louder and more confrontational without losing the raw energy that put these lads on the map. This song is not just a follow-up; it is making a statement.

Similar to some of their previous work like “Des Goblin” and “Nausea,” the band is cementing itself in the post-punk scene with their addictive and high-energy production. Gurriers are setting themselves away from fellow musicians these days with Dan Hoff’s easily recognizable vocals. The guitars are screaming and the drums are crashing. You can’t just listen to this song once and walk away. It is harsh and intense in the best way.

Alongside this single release, the band announced a new UK tour, with multiple shows in Bristol, Leeds, and Glasgow already sold out, while venues in Oxford and Cambridge have been upgraded in response to exceptional demand. The band is even hitting some US cities!

For fans of gritty, politically aware post-punk with a raw sound, this is essential. For those more cautious: it’s loud, it’s messy, but exactly what you need. Either way, these guys are demanding attention.
