LA-based indie pop artist and filmmaker, Myah, released a new music video for her track “Dissolve” today. It was self-directed and edited by Myah herself, fleshing out a full 12-minute comedy horror short film for this track, telling a story of her past mistakes and heartbreak.
Myah, being a filmmaker, has taken inspiration from popular movies for her music videos. In a press release she stated, “Last year, my video ‘the lobby‘ paid homage to ‘Scream,’ so with ‘dissolve’ I wanted to offer a different perspective on the same franchise. ‘Happy Death Day’ was also a big inspiration for this video. Above all, my fans know when a myah video drops: I’m taking you to the movies.” Myah takes the opportunity to use all of her talent in both music and filmmaking to emphasize her experiences to tell a compelling and exciting story.

In August, myah released her debut album, i don’t know what i’m feeling, which included “Dissolve” on the tracklist. The album follows Myah on an emotional journey in self-discovery and growth through falling apart and breaking down. This project boasts a 17-track run, through which listeners will go along on a journey of highs, lows and everything around and in-between them.
Myah spoke on the album and shared, “It touches on the crisis you experience as you start to get older and realize that romance and love aren’t what you’ve been told your whole life. It’s toxic and devastating and confusing; it can feel like you’re on top of the world one day and then like your whole world is falling apart the next.”
