The LA-based alternative indie artist Jayden Binnix, also known as BLACK POLISH, has just announced their sophomore album: YUNA. The album is set to release on October 29th under BMG. Along with the announcement of this album, they also shared their most recent single from the album, “LUSH” as well as a North American Tour.
Yuna follows the story of Binnix’s alter ego, who goes by the same name, “Yuna.” A man eating succubus, “Yuna” allows Binnix to use hyperfeminity to seduce those around her. The story of this album portrays a message that some parts of ourselves cannot be contained or pushed down, so we must accept them and see if we can learn from them.

This concept album follows the previous album, Forest, and tackles brooding lyrics with complex and moody instrumentals to create a soundscape perfect for telling the narrative of the album. It features two other released songs, “BE WITH YOU” and “BONDAGE,” which have seen a lot of acclaim from sources like Alternative Press, Paste Magazine and Out Magazine.
BLACK POLISH has commented on the narrative and message of these songs, saying, “I want to build entire worlds for people to dissect,” emphasizing the story as an important aspect of the music.
