Irish post-punk band The Murder Capital released a new single “Can’t Pretend to Know,” along with UK and Australia and New Zealand headline tours in 2025.
The band announced their UK and Australian and New Zealand 2025 headline tours, but this is just the beginning of a big year for the band. The Murder Capital will also be supporting Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds on their European tour in October.

The band’s new single is loud, angsty, and pushes their sound into a new direction. “Can’t Pretend to Know” has loud, echoing guitar parts along with aggressive drum grooves.
The Murder Capital opened up in the studio to DIY Magazine about their time recording and creating their third studio album. The band dug down to their roots and, as James McGovern puts it “cutting the fat off the sections where [they] just don’t need it.” This new sound they are producing is pushed in the direction of what early punk represented.
